Since the launch of the CDEP-SO intercantonal programme, hundreds of technology companies have benefitted from the services offered by the sector-specific support platforms and coaching organisations. Find out more about these companies who are helping the economy of Western Switzerland to grow and diversify. This list is by no means exhaustive. BestMile

Soutien de platinn et Alliance

BestMile est une spin-off de l’EPFL basée à Lausanne qui a développé une solution unique de gestion de flottes de véhicules autonomes à la manière d’une tour de contrôle. Leur logiciel répond à la demande de tous ceux qui n’utilisent pas les transports publics à cause de la distance qui sépare leur arrêt de bus, de métro ou de train de leur destination. C’est l’enjeu du « dernier kilomètre ». BestMile rend également possible l’appel à distance d’un véhicule sans conducteur grâce à une application Smartphone.

« Sur ce marché en émergence, nous avions besoin d’une aide extérieure pour développer rapidement notre produit en fonction des besoins des différents acteurs. Il était donc important de nouer les bons partenariats. Le coach platinn nous a permis de faire des choix judicieux grâce à ses conseils en matière de stratégie et de financement, alors que les conseils d’Alliance ont permis le montage d’un projet CTI pour le développement des algorithmes de notre logiciel », explique Anne Mellano, co-fondatrice.

IEM

Avec le soutien de platinn et Alliance

IEM est une société genevoise basée à Plan-les-Ouates, créée il y 25 ans avec l’objectif de concevoir, produire et vendre, en Suisse et à travers l’Europe, des équipements pour le stationnement tels que des horodateurs, des parcomètres et des automates dans le domaine des transports publics.

IEM intègre les nouvelles technologies permettant d’offrir des outils d’exploitation du stationnement en temps réel pour les villes et de nouvelles solutions de paiement pour les automobilistes. On peut citer par exemple le paiement par carte bancaire sans contact ou encore par téléphone portable.

« Le fait d’avoir pu recourir à des plateformes telles que platinn et Alliance nous a permis d’avoir accès aux nouvelles technologies, aux Hautes écoles et à un important réseau d’industriels. Le résultat est l’obtention d’un processus d’innovation optimum », conclut le directeur, Philippe Menoud.

Gait Up

Avec le soutien d'Alp ICT, BioAlps et Alliance

Gait Up est une spin-off de l’EPFL basée à Lausanne qui a développé des solutions innovantes pour la mesure et l’analyse du mouvement dans les domaines de la clinique et du sport à l’aide de capteurs portables. Cela permet aux médecins, aux coachs ou aux athlètes, de comparer les performances avant ou après un traitement et de déceler les éventuelles anomalies.

« Alliance nous a soutenu dans le montage d’un projet CTI qui nous a permis non seulement, de financer de la R&D, mais aussi de bien définir notre produit et formaliser les interactions avec les partenaires. Cela nous a fait gagner du temps et permis d’éviter les écueils afin de mettre rapidement notre produit sur le marché. Les plateformes sectorielles BioAlps et Alp ICT ont également contribué à la compréhension des besoins des clients des secteurs concernés », précise le co-fondateur de la société, Benoît Mariani.

Fintech Connect
26.11.15

FinTech (financial technology) is currently attracting a great deal of attention because of its impressive research and output. The aim of the “Fintech Connect” meetings is to foster and facilitate exchanges between the banking sector in Western Switzerland and national FinTech players. These invitation-only events bring financial stakeholders up to speed on the latest innovations and developments happening locally, while providing FinTech + FinSec (financial security) specialists with a platform to showcase their solutions and research to a wider audience.  

Micronarc Alpine Meeting
05.02.17

The primary focus of the annual “Micronarc Alpine Meeting” is industrial equipment needed to manufacture micro- and nanotechnology products. This conference brings together around 100 Swiss and international experts, and professionals working in the sector with the aim of stimulating quality networking and discussions. The two-day event in the Swiss Alps also includes lectures and company exhibits.

Smart Energy

CleantechAlps, together with The Ark Energy, the town of Sion and FMV, has backed National Smart Energy Day since its launch in 2011. Its aim is to bring together energy specialists for a day of lectures and discussions of the issues surrounding intelligent networks and the smart grid, such as decentralised feed-in, control energy, energy trading and the stakes in relation to medium- and high-voltage networks in both Switzerland and Europe. Given Switzerland’s decision to phase out nuclear power and the rise of variable alternative sources of energy, the theme of Smart Energy is more topical than ever.

Held between 4pm and 6pm and organised with support from the cantonal development agency, these events take the form of site visits to the key medtech and biotech players in the region

Compamed

During the annual international trade fair Compamed in Düsseldorf, Micronarc runs a pavilion which provides a select group of companies with a valuable platform to showcase their expertise and raise their profile in Europe. The fair attracts top-decision makers and over 500 exhibitors who supply the medtech services needed to manufacture medtech products, medical instrumentation, microsystem technologies, new materials and surface treatments.

BioAlps Networking Day
21.11.17

In 2009 BioAlps launched “BioAlps Networking Day”, an annual event that consistently attracts over 200 members of the life sciences community. The conferences, which have been organised in partnership with Inartis Network for the last two years, provides an overview and practical summary of the latest information on the opportunities and challenges facing the sector, materials innovation, biomedical applications and imaging, as well as new approaches for advanced manufacturing. Presentations are given by leaders in scientific research and specialist clinicians committed to advancing life sciences both regionally and nationally.

WFES & IWS & EcoWASTE

The World Future Energy Summit (WFES) in Abu Dhabi is the world’s foremost exhibition and conference on renewable energies, energy efficiency and clean technologies. Every year, T-LINK and CleantechAlps organise the “Swiss Pavilion”, offering clean-tech companies a high-profile stage to showcase their work and latest solutions. For Swiss companies looking to enter the market or strengthen their existing business relations, the pavilion is a first-rate networking platform. Together with the International Water Summit (water treatment) and the EcoWASTE exhibition (solutions and services in the waste and recycling sector), which run concurrently with the WFES, this global fair covers most of the priority areas pursued by CleantechAlps.

Mobile World Congress

The Mobile World Congress in Barcelona is not only the largest gathering of the mobile industry in the world, but it is also an innovative and exciting conference that brings together mobile operators and sellers from around the globe. To coincide with this event, Alp ICT has organised a business trip for between six and eight companies and institutes every year since 2010. A core strength of Alp ICT is the ability to leverage the potential of participants across these different communication channels. The highlight of these business trips are customised business meetings, organised upstream in partnership with Enterprise Europe Network, and the networking events run by Switzerland Global Enterprise and held at the Swiss Pavilion.
